Anza Borrego is a state park in the desert located east of San Diego and we had to travel through the mountains to get there. It was beautiful scenery.

And still more snow. We could not stop taking pictures out the window because none of us expected to see snow on our way to go camping.

We stopped for gas and thought this was a cute sign. Not only do the ducks like to play in this weather, but it was snowing and people were out fishing at this lake.

We came around a bend and almost ran into this turkey in the middle of the road! He ran off, but not before Chad caught his picture. That's the last turkey he should expect to see for a while (a little bowling humor)

Ten minutes after we saw the turkey, we turned another bend and suddenly the snow was gone. There is a faint rainbow in this picture, the first of many we saw in that area.

And suddenly we were in the desert with blue skies. We were all blown away with how quickly the landscape changed. This gorgeous spot was only a 45 minute drive from where we saw everyone sledding!

We chose to go to Anza Borego because our Sunset Magazine said in March lots of wild flowers would be in bloom. The rain didn't cooperate so they weren't blooming yet, but it was still beautiful.
